Why Community Engagement is Important

Community engagement is an opportunity that provides a platform for access to resources, activities and social interactions in a way that encompasses inclusivity of all members of the community, even individuals who may otherwise be excluded or marginalized such as individuals with disabilities or other minority groups. In layman's terms it is essential to engage the community to achieve long-term and sustainable outcomes, processes, relationships, discourse, decision-making, and implementation.
